The General Wastewater Pump Station Improvements project included upgrades and repairs to fourteen pump stations throughout Metro Atlanta as well as software upgrades at three wastewater reclamation facilities. In addition to the major instrumentation upgrades, six of the pump stations included new wet well facilities and pump stations (up to a depth of 40 feet).

This was a high-profile project with dual milestone deadlines at 14 pump stations and the wastewater treatment facilities, and these upgrades were time-sensitive due to a consent order by the Environmental Protection Agency.  Every milestone was met, the project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget.

The project team adopted a partnering agreement at the onset of the project, and close communication between the City of Atlanta, JJG, WWPS and major subcontractors was instrumental in the successful completion of this challenging project.
